Mini-Hoop / Minihoop Houses / Mini Polytunnels

So we are a little late for some plants but the weather has been atrocious; high winds and torrential rain. So we don’t feel too guilty. We are experimenting and learning for each of the plants. A never-ending lifelong learning.

We are now using a polyethylene netting to keep the plants warm, protected from the wind and also free to experience the light and rain water.

First attempt with 2.5m hoops on a 1m to 1.2m width bed. It seemed to work in the office with the mathematics of half the circumference of a circle plus the amount in the ground. Add 2m fabric and oops(!) the sides were a little loose!

We improve this and the next post covers the solution!
