Compost mix with Vermiculite
This year we have generally used a mix of 50% compost and 50% Vermiculite for our seed planting - whether heirloom, heritage or other seeds - peppers, chillies, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbages, French beans, broad beans, runner beans, peas, broccoli, melon, aubergine (egg plant).
The success rate seems pretty good so on balance we feel this mix is working.
Regular daily watering with a watering can so as to be gentle and careful not to over water.
