February is seeing a lot more activity in terms of plants growing. Chard is especially thriving as is pak-choi, spinach and rocket. We are now starting to plan planting seedlings as we head through and then out of the winter months.
Not much activity on the outside of the hoop house yet but we are starting to think about what space we can realistically use in the first few months of 2024, bearing in mind this is our first season. So the intent is to have planting areas and areas that are protected from weeds for later planting once we get on top of things.
Current plan is based on 4 outside vegetable beds, each 20m X 1.2m, with the scope for adding 3-4 further beds later in the year. Lets see how it goes.
